Hi, I'm Lian! Herbalist, ethnobotany nerd, and no stranger to a smokey balcony.
My name (pronounced "lee-AHn") is Chinese, meaning "lotus flower" or "graceful willow," both of which feel fitting to me. I'm Italian-American and Chinese.
I believe the key to living well is presence - sometimes meditative, sometimes hedonistic. Smoking herbs has been both for me.
My background is academic: a bachelor's in anthropology, a master's in museum studies focused on ethnobotanical collections, and a clinical herbalism apprenticeship.
While studying herbalism my friends tried all the herbal preparations I made, but the smokes were the only ones they kept asking for.
After seeing clients and selling smoke blends around town, I founded Puff Herbals in 2019 on the belief that working with herbs through smoke can be a vital and legitimate part of a holistic wellness practice.
I'm here to make herbal smoking a real third option, bridging the roots of herbalism with the realities of modern life.
