At this point in my life, smoking weed on its own is way too strong. For me, smoking straight weed would be like taking a shot of liquor. Sure, it'll get the job done, but it's potent to the point where I can't enjoy it because it's too much all at once.
When I mix herbs in with my weed, just like I'd mix different things together to make a cocktail, it becomes much more palatable for my mind and my body. Plus, smoking weed can come with some not-so-favorable "side" effects, and adding other herbs helps me keep those undesirable feelings at bay.
At Puff Herbals, I'm all about formulating targeted and balanced herbal smoking blends with several herbs that appeal to a wide variety of smokers, but adding just one other herb in with your weed can just as well make a big impact on flavor and effect. Here are 5 common and not-so-common smokable herbs that go great with weed:
1. Lavender Lavandula spp.
A powerful tension-melting herb, lavender relaxes tight muscles and calms agitated minds. Its terpene profile is high in linalool, targeting the nervous system to promote full-body relaxation and sleep. Pair lavender with indica-dominant strains to magnify tension release.
Try lavender in our Sleepy Collection to help you chill & prepare for drift off.
2. Peppermint Mentha piperita
Peppermint awakens and alerts the senses but calms your nerves at the same time. A unique herb, it gives a cooling impression with a warming aftertaste and feel in the body. Pair peppermint with sativa-dominant strains for added lucidity.
Try peppermint in our Stimulating Collection to help you get on it & feel good.
3. Mullein Verbascum thapsus
Soothing to your airways, mullein makes it easier for you to breathe more slowly and deeply which in turns calms your nerves. Pair mullein with weed anytime you smoke for added smoothness and to show your lungs some love.
Mullein's in all of our herbal smoking blends because it should be in everything you smoke!
4. Skullcap Scutellaria lateriflora
A mind spiraling in thought can be slowed with the help of skullcap, especially the type that can sometimes manifest when you smoke weed. Comforting to those overworked and overwhelmed, skullcap can be paired with any strain of weed to ward off rumination and paranoid thoughts.
Skullcap is formulated into all of our herbal smoking blends and is the inspiration for our logo - it's just that good!
5. Klip Dagga Leonotis nepetifolia
Also known as lion’s ear, this mint-family plant’s fuzzy orange petals nuzzle you with soft waves of euphoria. Add to any strain to steer your sesh toward smiles and positive thoughts. Did I mention klip dagga petals are orange? They're literally the color of happiness!
Lighten up and feel shimmery with klip dagga in our Signature Collection.
